- Why did you pick the option you did? What drew you to it? I chose to draw a portrait because I felt comfortable with it. Most of the sketches i did as a kid/before this class where of peoples faces, so i felt like i could do this project well.
- what was the most challenging part of the project and why? The most challenging part of the project was trying to make the face symmetric. When you draw something like an ear it is very hard to draw a exact copy on the other side of the face. It was also hard to make the lips, eyes, and nose to all be symmetric to each other. I mostly used a ruler to do this, but it still ended up being really hard. For example when you draw the nose you want the nostrils to look the same, but it is hard to get them to the right size, and use the right angles.
- How successful do you think it turned out? Did it turn out the way you envisioned or did it turn another direction? I did not turn out at all how i envisioned it. I thought i was going to draw Carl Sagan, but i decided that i wanted to draw my own character from my imagination. This lead to me looking at pictures of different people and piecing together someone for my portrait. Needless to say the man in my portrait looks nothing like Carl Sagan.
