Name- Salvador Dali
I based my painting primarily off of Dali’s painting the Meditative Rose, and other paintings which focused on showcasing a large sky with an object normally in the center. I wanted to create something very similar to this look especially of the Rose painting. It just was a very interesting painting to me since his other painting focused on more grotesque images, and this one was quite beautiful making me want to create something in that venue.
If I did this project again I would add more elements of surrealism in it instead of just the using the eye. I would have added a surrealistic boat into the ocean to add more detail into my painting and to make it more interesting. I would have also redone the cloud and have added more value into, and would have added some more clouds into more sky to create more value.

Name- Salvador Dali
- Usage of surrealism in the form of my floating eye since a primary part of surrealism is to add make a normal object abnormal by making a giant eye in the sky.
- He added many subtle meanings into his artwork, so I wanted to replicate that with the eye which was supposed to partially represent the idea of big brother watching people.
- In composing his paintings he used lots of flat landscapes with large skylines, so I tried to replicate that idea by making the landscape of my painting fairly flat.
- Another element I used was his usage of dull colors, I wanted the painting to look slightly dark and dull like he used in many of his paintings
- Describe the craftsmanship of your painting. (Is it neat and well executed?)
- What was the most difficult part of this project?
